2008 Seat Leon Ecomotive

The first units of the new SEAT Leon Ecomotive, a car in line with the brand's concern for preserving the environment, emerges as one of the least polluting models in its segment, and is already available through the dealer network. Given that its efficient 105 hp 1.9 TDI engine reduces its CO2 emissions by 16 g/km, or from 135 to 119, the buyer of a Leon Ecomotive will benefit from registration tax exemption.

The new car of the Spanish brand comes onto the market after the launch of the Ibiza Ecomotive, whose CO2 emission figure of 99 g/km made it the least polluting model in its segment.

Not only does the Leon Ecomotive feature low emission levels, but also outstandingly low fuel consumption figures of 3.9 l/100 km, which, together with its tax benefits, make SEAT's green version a very economical choice for customers within the Leon range.

In order to make the Ecomotive both economical and little polluting, the SEAT Technical Centre in Martorell modified various aspects, such as the engine, which has undergone extensive improvements to its electronic management, and the gear ratios that are 8.2% longer overall due to the lengthening of the third, fourth and fifth gears.

The car has been fitted with a DPF particulate filter as standard equipment, filtering the typical soot particles that most diesel engines produce.

Furthermore, the improvements also incorporate the weight of the vehicle, which has been reduced thanks to the detailed study of the equipment package and the elimination of certain options, and thanks to lower resistance tyres, making it possible to mount 195/ 65 tyres on 15 inch wheels or 205/ 55 tyres on 16 inch wheels.

The new Leon Ecomotive will be available with two trim levels: the Reference or the Stylance. At the same time, it is possible to opt for the special Sport Limited version.

The complete equipment of the Leon Ecomotive includes ABS and TCS, double front airbag, side airbags, head airbags, Isofix anchoring points, front electric one-touch and anti-trap windows, heated electric body colour door mirrors, air conditioning, CD radio with MP3 and Aux-in, six speakers, volumetric alarm, ESP with EBA emergency brake assistance, tyre pressure sensor, foglamps, dual zone climatiser, cruise control and trip computer, among others.
